The National Testing Agency (NTA) has set the syllabus for JEE Main Syllabus 2026 for the engineering students to secure there seats in undergraduate courses whose registration started from 31 October 2025 and will continue till 27 November 2025. Detailed Syllabus Breakdown

Physics (Paper 1)

The paper includes both class 11 and 12 fundamentals topics like: measurement, motion, laws of motion, energy and power, rotational motion, gravitation, properties of solids & liquids, thermodynamics, kinetic theory of gases, oscillations & waves, electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, electromagnetic induction, electromagnetic waves, optics, dual nature of matter & radiation, atoms & nuclei, electronic devices and experimental skills

Chemistry

Divided into three parts which includes:

  • Physical Chemistry: Basic concepts, atomic structure, bonding, thermodynamics, solutions, equilibrium, redox & electrochemistry, chemical kinetics.
  • Inorganic Chemistry: Classification, periodicity, p-block, d- and f-block, coordination compounds.
  • Organic Chemistry: Purification and characterization of compounds, basic principles, hydrocarbons, compounds with halogens/oxygen/nitrogen, biomolecules.

Mathematics

Topics that will come in paper are : sets, relations & functions; complex numbers & quadratic equations; matrices & determinants; permutations & combinations; binomial theorem; sequence & series; limits, continuity & differentiability; integral calculus; differential equations; coordinate geometry; 3D geometry; vector algebra; statistics & probability; trigonometry.

Paper 2A & 2B Additional Syllabus

For B.Arch.: The mathematics section follows the same topics as Paper 1. The aptitude test includes visualization of 3-D objects from 2-D drawings, analytical reasoning, awareness of buildings/materials/textures, understanding scale, proportion, color harmony and drawing of abstract shapes.
For B.Planning: Apart from math’s & aptitude, there are planning-based questions focusing on general awareness of cities, development issues, government programmes, social science topics, map reading, interpretation of charts/graphs/tables.
